Simba Sana Gonzaga alum, is the CEO of Freedom
Enterprises, a company engaged in accounting
andbusiness development services. He started his
professional career at Ernst & Young working as an
auditor for several years. This experience led him to
become the co-founder and CEO of Karibu Books, a
company which started off as a vending operation and
grew into the largest black bookstore chain in the US
with six retail locations in the DMV. At its’ peak, Karibu
had 45 full and part-time employees and sales of $4.5
million. It closed in 2008. Simba is the author of Never
Stop: A Memoir by Agate Publishing, and he speaks to
people, both young and adult, about the important
lessons disclosed in his story. A magna cum laude
graduate of Mount Saint Mary’s University with a
double-major in business and accounting, he also
obtained two masters degrees from Howard University
in African Studies and St. John’s College (Annapolis) in
Liberal Studies. Since the age of 12, Simba has been
passionately involved in the ‘sweet science’, first as an
amateur boxer, then as a manager, and currently as an
assistant coach with The Good Fight Boxing Team
located at Champions Boxing Fitness.
