Dr. John Mark Reynolds is the President of The Saint Constantine School and serves on the Board of Directors for the Orthodox Christian School Association (OCSA). He is also a faculty member at St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary, a Fellow at the Center for Science and Culture at The Discovery Institute, and the former Provost of Houston Christian University. Additionally, Dr. Reynolds was the founder and director of the Torrey Honors College, a Socratic, great books-centered honors program at Biola University.
Dr. Reynolds holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Rochester, where his dissertation focused on cosmology and psychology in Plato’s Timaeus. He is the author of several books, including When Athens Met Jerusalem: An Introduction to Classical and Christian Thought, and serves as the editor of The Great Books Reader. He frequently blogs and lectures on a wide array of topics, such as ancient philosophy, classical and home education, politics, faith, and virtue.
A member of St. George Orthodox Church in Houston, Texas, Dr. Reynolds is also an avid technophile, with his home equipped with voice-controlled systems for lighting, temperature, and entertainment devices, often to both entertaining and unexpected results. He is a fan of Disneyland, Star Trek, and the Green Bay Packers. Dr. Reynolds and his wife Hope have four adult children: L.D., Mary Kate, Ian, and Jane.
