James B. LaGrand is the Director of the Honors Program and Professor of American History at Messiah University. He has published Indian Metropolis: Native Americans in Chicago, 1945-75 with University of Illinois Press and essays in Public Discourse, Patheos, The Federalist, History News Network, The Cresset, Quillette, and Pennsylvania History. He has lived in Boston MA; Ottawa, Canada, Grand Rapids MI; and Bloomington IN. His wife Betsy and he currently live in the Harrisburg PA area and are the parents of 3 young-adult children.
