Onyema Nweze is a Senior Consultant for The MacMillan Institute and a 2006 and 2007 alumnus of The Summer Institute.  She completed her Doctor of Education degree in April 2024 in Curriculum and Instruction and is an advocate for liberal education in the public school. Dr. Nweze studied the teaching and learning experiences of former MacMillan Academy teachers in her dissertation: Prometheus Unbound in the Public Schools. She has worked as a public-school educator for 30 years, beginning as a high school English teacher in 1993. Most of her career was spent in the Dallas ISD, where she also served as an instructional coach, assistant principal, and academic facilitator.
